Bump to 4.16-rc1 !
I'm still trying to find some time to focus on the VPU. Now that they've seemed to switch to the v4l2 API and provided some tests... at some time (they've deleted the repo with the tests cases... great...), I'll see if I can try that way.
My biggest issue with the VPU right now is the fact that all the registers are set in a "magic way" that is not documented on the official documentation. The official documentation purposedly omit these parts since they have some NDA with the actual VPU IP provider.
They've also wiped out part of some repositories histories, including the MPP one, making things a little more difficult.
That said, now that I have multiple RK3288 boards and that Armbian now provides ways to install the rockchip kernel and mpp easily, I should be to understand the innards of this thing and get it done.
Still, I'm really tired of Rockchip playing hide-and-seek on this one.
